A Perry County man was arrested on Jan. 10 in a residence off Jim Berry Lane in Stone County and charged with two felonies.

Authorities were called there by a female being held against her will.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies saw a man standing in the doorway.

That man, later identified as Brodie Andrew Nelson (pictured), 33, hurried back inside and shut the door.

Deputies called for him to come outside, and he refused. A K-9 was brought to the scene, and Nelson complied with the officer’s commands and came outside.

Nelson was taken into custody. The unidentified female was then ordered to come out, and she complied and was placed in a squad car.

A search of the residence found a 12-gauge shotgun, a .223 rifle, a .22 rifle, a .22 revolver, a plastic baggie containing what field-tested as methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Nelson was charged with being a previously convicted felon in possession of firearms, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to jail and placed on a $5,000 bond.
