Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets improve to 9-2 overall versus Clinton Friday night

Friday night at Mountain View High School, the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets outscored Clinton, 25-7, from the last few seconds of the first quarter to the end of the first half to take a commanding 21 point halftime lead and cruised to a 61-35 victory over the Clinton Lady Yellowjackets.
Mountain View got the scoring run going with 11 seconds to go in the first quarter when Rylee Shipman drained a three-pointer, Chaelann Vickers would get a steal and a quick bucket on the following inbounds pass to extend a three-point lead to eight at the end of the first quarter.
Mountain View hit eight, three-pointers for the game, four each from Shipman and Josie Storey.
Storey finished with 18 points, Shipman had 14 points, Vickers added 10 points, Kennedy Holland 9 points and eight rebounds, Aubrey Isbell with six points and Emry Johnson scored four points.
Mountain View improved to 9-2 overall and 8-0 in conference play.
In the senior boys game, Clinton jumped out to a 13-4 first-quarter lead as Mountain View struggled to get going offensively in the early going.
Clinton would build on that lead in each of the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach and win 57-40.
Elijah Carlton led Mountain View with 10 points, Kaedn Henderson added eight points, Riley McCarroll added five points, Bryce Baird had four points, and Brayden Scribner scored four points.
Mountain View fell to 4-8 on the season and 2-6 in conference play.
