Coach Jordan Riley added win number 100 to his resume as the Lady Southerners completed the season sweep Monday night against the Westside Lady Warriors winning 60-47.
Southside never trailed in picking up the season’s ninth win and moving to 4-3 in conference play.
The Southerners roared out of the gates leading 20-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The Lady Southerners’ defense was strong thru the first half holding the Lady Warriors to three field goals, but 11 of 13 free-throw shooting in the first half, kept the warriors alive but trailing the Southerners 29-18 at the break.
Brett Gardner took over in the third quarter scoring 13 points and increasing Southsides lead to 13 by the end of the quarter.
The Lady Warriors were left with no choice but to force the Southerners to the line in the final period and the Southerners hit enough free throws to keep the lead and leave Westside with a big win.
Brett Gardner led all scorers with 30 points, Kamie Jenkins had nine points, Callie Robbins and Olivia Allen added eight points apiece, and Chole McCants scored four points.
