Murder suspect transported back to Batesville

The suspect in the Jan. 25 killing of a Batesville man is now behind bars in Independence County.

Information from the Independence County Jail shows Cody Thomas Weathers (pictured), 28, was booked right before 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1. Weathers is facing a first-degree murder charge in the Jan. 25 killing of killing of Adam Lowry, 29, inside their residence on Rounds Road.

Authorities have said Weathers fled from the scene at Rounds Road on Jan. 25. He later turned himself into the Springfield, Missouri Police Department. He is being held on a bond of $750,000.
