Arkansas reports 30 more coronavirus deaths; new cases drop

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas has reported 30 more coronavirus deaths, although the state’s new cases and hospitalizations continue to drop.

The state Department of Health on Monday said Arkansas virus deaths now total 5,106 since the pandemic began. The state’s virus cases rose by 637 to 307,373, and its hospitalizations dropped by four to 777.

Figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University show the rolling average of daily new cases in Arkansas has dropped by 206.3, or 11.3 percent, over the past two weeks.

The state’s new cases Monday were nearly half as many as the 1,226 new cases it reported a week ago.
