KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lyon College women’s cross country freshman Clare Wilber will compete at the NAIA Cross Country Championships on Apr. 9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as she became the first Scot to qualify for the event since 1994.

The Lyon College cross country programs are in their fourth season of competition since returning to campus in 2017, following a seven-year moratorium.

Wilber qualified for the event after finishing seventh overall at this past weekend’s A.I.I. Championship. Wilber posted a time of 21:29.40 in the women’s 5K and finished as the third-best runner that was not on the championship team.

The NAIA Women’s 5K National Championship will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Apr. 9 at the Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The race will be broadcast for the first time this year on the NAIA Network. To access the live video stream and purchase a pass, click here.
