The Main Street Batesville Farmers Market will kick off its market season Saturday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Citizens Bank Pocket Park on Main Street in downtown Batesville.

This is the Main Street Farmers Market’s eighth market season with musical entertainment booked for each market date and more vendors lined up than ever before, Main Street Batesville Executive Director Mandi Curtwright said.

Longstanding local favorites Brood Farm, Ozark Kitchen, Macra-made in Arkansas, and Stewart Produce will return this market season.  This season’s market shoppers will also find PJ’s baked goods and handmade crafts, Independence Ark Farm’s produce and pasture-raised beef, naturally-grown cut flowers and young plants from Secret Gardens Flower Farm, Hudson and Franks’ bath products and baked goods, resin jewelry handmade by Found Elsewhere, and Hudson Hollow Woodworking’s handmade wooden art and outdoor furniture.  The Humane Society of Independence County will be selling pet-themed items including dog and cat treats, bandanas, and more. And White River Now will be distributing free, reusable market bags (pictured below) while supplies last.

The market will be open on the first, third, and fifth Saturday mornings of each month from May through October.

Follow the Main Street Farmers Market on Facebook and @msbfarmersmarket on Instagram for more information regarding the market and its vendors.

Make plans to join in the fun on opening day, May 1, to support Batesville’s local growers and makers.
