Evelyn Wood, 94 of Batesville passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She was born January 8, 1927, in Newark, Arkansas to M.T. and Julia Wood. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She was a resident of Woodlawn Heights Nursing Home in Batesville for 14 years where she was truly loved and received excellent care.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Randy Wood and an infant brother, Aubrey Dean Wood.
Survivors include two brothers, Verlon Wood (Dora) of Bella Vista and Stephen Wood (Wanda) of Panama City, Panama; one sister, Wanda Armstrong of Austin, Texas; one sister-in-law, Debbie Neeley (Curtis) of Batesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains with Verlon Wood and Stephen Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Paul Wood, Michael Wood, and all nephews present.
