Calico Rock man jailed on drug charges

A Calico Rock man was jailed after officers from the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, along with probation and parole officers converged on his home.

According to a release from the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, Jessie Carroll, 57, was found on May 18 in his shop building with two baggies of methamphetamine while inside his residence, officers found several pieces of drug paraphernalia which included a set of digital scales and glass smoking devices. The release said most of the items had meth residue on them.

Carroll is charged with multiple drug offenses including possession of meth with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia for analyzing and packaging meth, and maintaining a drug premises within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

He is also being charged as a habitual offender.

Carroll is being held without bond on a hold for the Arkansas Community Corrections Department.
