Obituary: Tommie Mabin

Tommie Mabin, 67, of Newport departed this life on Sunday, May 23, 2021.  He was born June 22, 1953 to Rhuheady and Alma (Seabron) Mabin.

Mr. Mabin was a Navy Veteran and retired from the Norandal plant in Newport.  He was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed attending Sunday school and Bible Study. Tommie was so faithful to the church that it was often stated that if anyone should have a key to the church; it should have been him because he was always the first one there on Sunday morning.  He enjoyed reading his bible and was known for being the king of dominoes.  Cooking and Barbecuing were some of his favorite past times.  He also loved to dance.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Mabin, and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his friend, Betty Barr, his brother, Don Mabin of Newport; his sisters, Juanita Person of St. Louis and Jennifer Mabin of St. Louis; his aunts, Mildred Green (Otis) of Illinois, Emma Cox of Jonesboro and Pearline Mabin of Newport; three nieces, four nephews and a host of cousins.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Dillinger Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2021, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
