LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas board that redraws legislative district boundaries every 10 years following the U.S. census has hired a former state chief justice to be the panel’s redistricting coordinator.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports the Arkansas Board of Apportionment hired state Supreme Court Chief Justice Betty Dickey on Monday.

Attorney General Leslie Rutledge made a motion to hire Dickey at a rate of $10,000 per month for the term of the redistricting process.

Along with Rutledge, Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Secretary of State John Thurston are also members of the board, with Hutchinson serving as chairman.

Dickey is scheduled to begin June 15.
