Obituary: Billie Jean Winkle Sprague

She was born June 14, 1931 in Batesville to Wesley and Effie (Glenn) Winkle.

Billie enjoyed sewing, especially pillowcases and curtains. She loved gardening, cooking, and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Sprague of the home; one daughter, Brenda Ivy (Benny) of Batesville; one step-daughter, Lisa Ladage (Doug) of O’Fallon, Missouri; two step-sons, Larry Sprague (Cathy) of Quincy, Illinois, and Steve Sprague of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Sue Strait of Bethesda, sixteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ladonna Vickery Tharp; three brothers, Dwine Winkle, Rex Winkle, and Harold Winkle; one infant brother; one sister, Jimmie Redding, and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Danny Stevens, Larry Sprague, Steve Sprague, Audie Medley, Gary Tate, and Jesse Tharp.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville with Glen Mckay officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
