LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The former head of a nonprofit that helps entrepreneurs said Tuesday that he’d seek next year’s Democratic nomination for Arkansas governor. Chris Jones is former executive director of the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. He announced his candidacy Tuesday. He’s among several Democratic candidates running to succeed Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who’s barred by term limits from seeking reelection. Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Attorney General Leslie Rutledge are seeking the Republican nomination. Democrats face an uphill climb in Arkansas, where Republicans hold all statewide partisan offices.
