An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman after a pedestrian said they were struck by a vehicle on East Main Street, near the Miller Creek bridge, in Batesville.

According to an affidavit of probable cause for arrest, Batesville Police Officers investigated the June 29 incident after a pedestrian walking north on the northbound side of State Highway 233 said they were struck by a vehicle also traveling north.
The pedestrian was later transported to the White River Medical Center after complaining of pain in their left arm and chest area.
A vehicle matching the description provided by the pedestrian was soon located outside a room at a nearby motel. The affidavit said the vehicle’s owner told authorities they had not driven the vehicle all day.
Investigators also spoke with another person in the room, identified as Jennifer L. Lacroix, 45, who stated she had driven the vehicle in question, a Toyota Tundra, “earlier in the day,” the affidavit said.
The affidavit noted investigators observed the vehicle’s radiator was still hot while they were at the hotel, indicating it was most likely recently used. The officers also saw damage to the right front fender and passenger side mirror, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit noted further investigation of CCTV footage from nearby businesses also placed the Tundra in the area of State Highway 233 within the timeframe of the incident.
Lacroix faces one felony count of requirements in accidents involving death or personal injuries — leaving the scene of an accident that might have caused death or injury.
Her bond was set at $15,000.
