Obituary: James “Bud” “Pop” Whitehead

James ”Bud” ”Pop” Whitehead, 85, of Cave City passed away July 15, 2021.

He was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Winfield, Alabama to Fred Banks Whitehead and Eva Earline (Hallmark) Whitehead.

James was a member of First Faith Pentecostal and a farmer. He enjoyed visiting and watching birds and wildlife.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Shirley Fay (Cooper) Whitehead of the home; one son, James Whitehead (Pam) of Batesville; two daughters, Pamela Clark (Danny) of Earle, and Sherry Brown (James) of Cave City; three sisters, Oneida Hartley, Dorothy Howard, and Shirley Herrell (Carroll Gene) all of Marked Tree; eight grandchildren, John Brown (Kayleen), Lindy Clark, Tanner Clark (Patricia), Micah Whitehead, Marcus Whitehead, Christopher Whitehead, Brittany Greenlee, and Abby Greenlee, and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Curtis Whitehead, and a sister, Jeanette Coats.

Pallbearers are Robert Martin, Ryan Martin, Eddie Chisem, Jeff Hobbs, Brice Foust, and Terry Coats. Honorary pallbearers are James Whitehead, Tanner Clark, John Brown, Carroll Gene Herrell, Chuck Brown, Randy Crouch, Dick Rugel, the Employees of Approve Home Health, and Davita Dialysis

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021, at First Faith Pentecostal Church in Cave City at 11:00 a.m. with Caleb Harris. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Cave City.
