A former Cedar Ridge High School basketball star has signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Lakers professional basketball team.

After leading Cedar Ridge to the Class 3A basketball championship in his senior year, Austin Reaves went on to star in college at Wichita State, before transferring to the University of Oklahoma in 2019. There, under the coaching of Lon Kruger, Reaves became a standout jumbo point guard.

According to Bleacher Report, Reaves averaged 14.7 points per game despite shooting just 38.1 percent from the field during his first season with the Sooners.

As a senior in 2020-21, Reaves was named to the All-Big 12 first team. He led the team in scoring with 18.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 25 starts. He shot 44.3 percent from the field on a career-high 12.6 attempts per game, Bleacher Report says.
