The fifth annual Howard L. House Memorial Golf Tournament, presented by First Community Bank, will be held Aug. 7 and 8 in Batesville at the Course at Eagle Mountain with proceeds benefitting the Children’s Advocacy Center of Independence County.
The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Independence County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was established in 2017 and began serving children in November 2018, and its mission is to empower, protect and heal victims of child abuse.
The Independence County center is 1 of 17 CAC locations in the state, and it serves children in Independence, Izard, Stone, Sharp, or Fulton counties. The center provides forensic interviews, medical examinations, therapy, advocacy, and community education at no cost to the children and their families. Since its inception, the center has served over 400 children.
“I am truly appreciative for the sustained commitment that the players and sponsors make every year in helping us raise much-needed funding for the invaluable services that the CAC provides,” said Dianne Lamberth, daughter of the late Howard House and board member emeritus of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Independence County. “The fact that this tournament helps the children in our community means the world to me, and it would mean the world to my father.”

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Independence County board of directors, comprised of a team of business leaders, includes Dr. Pat Mulick, board chair; Dr. Katie Yarnell, vice chair; Jason Taylor, Treasurer; Amanda Reaves, secretary; Dr. Chris Steel; Beatrice Moore; and Kyle Christopher.
