Obituary: Zayna Wilmans

Zayna (Allen) Wilmans of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2021, at the age of 78.

She was born Aug. 28, 1942, at Batesville, the daughter of Don and Lula P Allen.

On July 7, 1961, she was married to Robert Dorsey “R.D.” Wilmans, III.

Wilmans was a graduate of Batesville High School and received a degree from Arkansas College, now Lyon College.

Wilmans worked in real estate in Dallas, Texas, for several years.

She enjoyed cooking, playing Bridge, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Wilmans had a contagious laugh, and a deep love of family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newport, where she served on the Altar Guild.

Wilmans was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “R.D.” Wilmans, III; sister Evelyn Walters, her parents, and her beloved Albie.

She is survived by two daughters Amanda Wilmans Lambert and husband, Bobby, of Dallas, Texas; Zayna Wilmans Wooten and husband, Steve, of Newport; one son, Robert Dorsey Wilmans, IV and wife, Lisa, of Newport; and one sister, Kathy Lindley of Gulf Shores, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Kristin DeClerk, Greer, and Neali Lambert, Lauren Jones, Maddie Hopkins and husband, Zach, Trey Winemiller and wife, Chelsea, Michael and Natalie Wilmans; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson and Eli Tarpley, Miles and Coy Hopkins, Calvin Brooks Winemiller, Fisher, and Felix DeClerk; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Zayna cherished her many wonderful friends until her last day.

Zayna was very special and will be greatly missed.

“Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10.

The Wilmans Family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
