Students, from kindergarten to third grade, enjoyed creating art at the Batesville Area Arts Council’s Summer Art Camp.

This year, students learned about artists Vincent Van Gogh, Giacomo Balla, Henri Rousseau, Berthe Morisot, and Canaletto. Participants created projects inspired by these artists using a variety of art techniques with instructors Macy Hudson and Abby Rutter.

Their work is now featured in an exhibition at BAAC’s Gallery on Main, located at 226 E. Main St., through Aug. 14.

A drop-in gallery reception for the 2021 Kids Art Exhibition will be held on Friday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the Main Street Batesville First Friday event.

The event is free and open to the public. The John Herman Hickman Foundation is the sponsor of the BAAC Summer Art Camp for kids.
