Mark Jones, the son of Grandpa and Ramona Jones and a member of Grandpa’s band for many years passed away. Mark was 65.

Mark worked with the Willis Brothers on the Grand Ole Opry and made several appearances on the TV show “Hee-Haw.”

He traveled on the road playing bass with his dad until he became a regular performer at the Grandpa Jones Dinner Theatre in Mountain View.

He taught music lessons and helped preserve the old “frailing style” of playing the banjo.

More recently he ran sound and lighting at the Ozark Folk Center and made weekly appearances on their radio show.

He loved this area of the Ozarks and was proud to call it his home.

A family member said Mark passed away while battling the effects of COVID-19.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later.
