Rickey Darrell Henderson went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Newport, the son of Floyd “Skeeter” and Bernice (Goza) Henderson.

Rickey was a 1970 graduate of Swifton High School.

He retired from the City of Swifton, where he served as Street Superintendent.

Prior to that, he worked for Duncan Lumber Company, sold cars with his good friend, Tom Reynolds, and worked for several years at Arkansas Electric. R

ickey enjoyed hot rods, old cars, and watching funny videos.

He was a huge Arkansas Razorback fan, and you would always count on finding him in front of the television or listening to the radio when the hogs were playing.

His family was his life. Rickey always kept his three girls laughing with his quick-witted jokes, and he loved riding his grandkids around on the 4-wheeler. His days were best spent with the love of his life, his wife, Cindy. He had recently given his life to the Lord and attended Swifton First Assembly of God Church.

Rickey was preceded in death by his father, Floyd “Skeeter” Henderson.

Also surviving is a special aunt, Elaine Goza of Newport; a very special uncle who was more like a brother, Sam Goza, and wife, Nina of Swifton; eight grandchildren, Aaliyah Holloway, Drake Rush, Addison Russell, Ellie Smith, Ellasyn Francis, Sawyer Pattillo, Lucky Francis, and Roxetta Francis; one great-grandchild, Jayce Ekstrom; one nephew, Christ Smith, and wife, Maria, of Swifton; one niece, Alyssa Key, and husband, Rocky of Jonesboro; three great-nieces, Sydney Smith, Bella Black, and Zendaya Key; three great-nephews, Zane Smith and fiancée, Bree, Gavin Key, and Kyler Smith; a truly special group of people employed by the City of Swifton; and a lifetime of friends.
