The Batesville Pioneer offense came alive on Thursday night in Searcy, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a better offensive performance by the Class 6A Searcy Lions as the Pioneers fell to 0-2 by a score of 50-36.
Jack Lanier ran for two touchdowns, had an interception, and completed a pass on a perfectly executed fake punt in the final quarter.
Jay Storlie threw two touchdown passes, the first an 18-yard strike to Sophomore Jace Jeffrey and the other a 61-yard completion to Junior Ethan Price.
Dayshaun Brown scored on a 63-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.  Sophomore Gabe Witt ran for 106 yards on 19 carries.
The Pioneers will host the Class 6A Mountain Home Bombers next Friday night at Pioneer Stadium with the kickoff at 7:00 p.m.  You can listen to all of the action on 93 KZLE.
