Sulphur Rock man dies after one-vehicle accident

An Independence County man died early Sunday morning after a one-vehicle accident in Sulphur Rock.

According to the preliminary fatality report released by the Arkansas State Police, Richard Jordan Ottaway, 35, of Sulphur Rock was driving a Polaris Ranger utility vehicle west on North Vaughn Street around 1:15 a.m. when he lost control of the UTV while trying to negotiate a left-hand turn.

The report said the Polaris then skidded across loose gravel and rolled over.
