Batesville Pioneers pick up first win of the season Friday night, 37-0

The Batesville Pioneers picked up their first win of the season as they defeated the Paragould Rams by a score of 37-0 at Pioneer Stadium.

Dayshaun Brown had a big night for the Pioneers as he had an 18-yard touchdown run and a 76-yard punt return touchdown in the first quarter.

Gabe Witt had two touchdown runs on the night, the first from 34 yards out and the second a 49 yard run in the third quarter.

Rhett McDonald completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Price for the Pioneer’s final touchdown.

Esler Ordonez made all five of his extra points on the night.

Batesville also picked up a safety when the Rams had an errant snap on a punt in the first quarter.

The Pioneers improved to 1-4 on the season and evened their 5A East record to 1-1.

The Pioneers will travel next week to Forrest City to take on the Mustangs in another 5A East game.
