Harding Academy snaps Mountain View’s three-game winning streak

The Mountain View Yellowjackets winning streak ended after three games with a 38-0 loss to the Harding Academy Wildcats.

The defending state champion Wildcats took control of the game scoring 24 points in the second quarter to take a 31-0 halftime lead.

Mountain View struggled to get anything going offensively as they were limited to 134 yards of total offense.

Leading the way for the Yellowjackets was Senior Quarterback Elijah Carlton who rushed for 76 yards on the ground.

Harding Academy totaled over 400 yards of offense in a balanced attack.

Andrew Miller ran for three touchdowns and Quarterback Kade Smith passed for two touchdowns.

Defensively for the Yellowjackets Trace Tinkle had 11 tackles, Drew Shelton, Luke McCoy, Jace Tinkle, each had six tackles as Mountain View dropped to 4-2 overall on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

Harding Academy improved to 4-2 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Mountain View returns home next Friday as they will host the Newport Greyhounds.
