The Melbourne Bearkatz looked to get back on the winning track after a heartbreaking loss last week as they took to the road to face the Salem Greyhounds.

It was a quick start for the Katz offense, as the short passing game proved effective in a quick scoring drive.

After that, it was the running game that picked up, as the next two touchdowns were scored on the ground.

At 21-0, it appeared as if Melbourne would run away with the game.

However, that would not be the case, as the teams would trade scores before halftime, with the Bearkatz taking a 28-14 lead into the break.

From there, it was all Katz, as the defense did not allow another point and the offense scored three touchdowns across the end of the third and start of the fourth quarters.

The sportsmanship rule was invoked after the final touchdown, a 58-yard punt return by Carter Bray, setting the final margin at 49-14.

The Bearkatz improve to 4-2 overall, 1-1 in conference play, and have a bye week before returning home to face Riverview in two weeks.
