Charges are being filed against three individuals in a Sunday afternoon incident that resulted in injuries to a Melbourne man.

All three are juveniles, two have been charged as adults; Darin Woodward, 18 and Isabel Nolan, 17, both of Melbourne; and, Landon Thomas, 16, of Horseshoe Bend.

According to a press release from the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, officers discovered a 25-year-old victim on the kitchen floor of an Allen Street residence just after 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

The victim told the officer he was asleep, laying on his stomach when he was awakened by a man striking him with a baseball bat on the back of his head.

The victim said the man was wearing a mask and that his alleged attacker also pressed the barrel of a pistol to his forehead. During the attack, a female was taking items from the home and placing them in a backpack.

The victim was later transported to UAMS for treatment of their injuries.

Thomas and Nolan were taken into custody and questioned with their parents or guardians present. All three are charged with residential burglary and first-degree battery. Nolan and Thomas have been charged as adults.
