Obituary: Calistro “Cal” Puentez Jr.

Calistro “Cal” Puentez Jr., 59 of Pleasant Plains passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021.  He was born May 2, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas to Calistro Puentez Sr. and Manuela Montoya Puentez.  He was a retired truck driver and a member of Banner Faith Full Gospel Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jessie Puentez and Manuel Puentez, and one sister, Petra Pedroza.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Donna Puentez of the home; two sons, Calistro Robert Puentez III of Pleasant Plains and Thomas Puentez (Courtney) of Batesville; one daughter Rachel Puentez of Nacogdoches, Texas; three brothers, Diego Puentez (Lisa), Jamie Puentez and Abelardo Ayala all of Hammond, Indiana; four sisters, Easther Cervantes, Cruza Miranda (Javier), Eulalia Santillian (Carlos) and Connie Lubiana (Jose) all of Hammond, Indiana; two grandchildren, Callie Jo Puentez and Kip Nolan Puentez both of Batesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullin Cemetery in Pleasant Plains with Bro. Don Cross officiating.   Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
