Sandra Elizabeth Elston, 63, of Newport departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021. She was born Dec. 12, 1957, to Frank Travis and Mary Elizabeth Travis.
Sandra was a member of the Seeds of Faith Church and worked hard in both the church and the Christ Academy School. She enjoyed crafts and cooking. She also enjoyed decorating, especially for weddings. The most important thing in her life was her family, and she was the glue that held her family together.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack Travis.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Norman Elston; sons, Calvin Ford (Shawn) of Newport, Larry Elston (Kari) of Minnesota, Bryson Elston (Romesha) of Newport; daughters, Ermalean Stoner of Jonesboro, LaTonya Anders, of Newport; brother, Bobby Travis; sisters, Linda Payne (Paul) of Diaz, Donna Holderby of Newport; grandchildren, Adrianna Ford, Calvin Ford Jr., Shamari Andrews, Deandre Elston, Oliver Elston, Jyshyra Stoner, Justice Stoner, Justin Stoner Jr., Desmond Grady, Israel Grady, Ja’Niya Grady, Bryson Elston Jr., Brianna Elston; great-grandchildren, Armani Elston, Emari Ford, Samara Gates, Journey Watkins, and Jaya Watkins; special aunt, Louise Adams of Chicago; special nephew, Kevin Callahan(Carletta) of Atlanta; great-nephew, Kevin Callahan Jr. of Atlanta and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
