Riverview Raider spoil Senior Night for the Mountain View Yellowjackets, 7-6

Friday night at Yellowjacket Stadium in Mountain View the Riverview Raiders spoiled Senior Night for the Yellowjackets with a 7-6 victory over the Mountain View Yellowjackets.

The game was scoreless till the final quarter.  Mountain View would strike first with 5:44 to go on a 10-yard touchdown run by Dustin Irwin.

This capped off a 14 play, 75-yard drive that took 7:42 off the clock. The extra point try was missed and Mountain View led 6-0.

Riverview would quickly strike back as Koby Teeter scored on a 59-yard touchdown run with 4:34 left.  Eric Brown added the extra point to give Riverview a 7-6 lead.

Riverview forced a turnover on downs on Mountain View’s next possession and was able to run out the clock for the victory.

Mountain View was led by Elijah Carlton 123 yards on 23 carries.  Riverview was led by Teeter with 98 yards on 11 carries.  Quarterback Israel Gameros added 83 yards on 24 carries rushing and 91 yards on 5-10 passing.  Mountain View dropped to 5-4 on the season and 1-3 in conference play.  While Riverview improved to 5-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Next, up for the Yellowjackets, they will travel to Melbourne to play the Bearkatz.
