The 2021 football season ended for the Batesville Pioneers on Friday night as they were defeated by the Valley View Blazers 17-7 in Valley View.
The lone Pioneer score came on a 17-yard pass from Riley Gregg to Ethan Price. Esler Ordonez kicked the extra point.
The Pioneers finished their season at 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the 5A East.
The Pioneers finished in a tie for fourth place, but did not make the playoffs because of a tie-breaker.
The Pioneers say goodbye to 13 Seniors: Juan Gonzalez, Sam Gates, Jack Lanier, Ethan Perez, Adrian Gutierrez, Dayshawn Brown, Garyson Berdeja, Holden Hargrave, Tyler Jones, Matthew McClure, Trenton, Heigle, Esler Ordonez, and Jacob Easter.
