BHSC’s Gage Wood celebrates National Signing Day

Pioneer right-hander Gage Wood celebrated signing with the Arkansas Diamond Hogs on National Signing Day, Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Batesville High School Charter.

Wood committed to the University of Arkansas for 2022 after first committing to Kansas State. He announced his commitment to the Diamond Hogs in mid-July.

Wood’s fastball has been clocked at 93 mph, and he is the Arkansas Class 5A Co-Player of the Year.

In addition to throwing 138 strikeouts during the 2021 season for the Diamond Pioneers, ArkansasFight.com reports Wood also had a .350 batting average for the season.
