Betty Mae (Bomar) Harvey, 80, of Cherry Valley, Arkansas departed this life Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

She was born October 7, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee the daughter of Rupert Douglas and Lessie (Hood) Bomar. She is a member of Cherry Valley Baptist Church and she was active with the ladies at the church and taught the children in Children Church for many years. She graduated from Frayser High School in 1959. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, working in the yard, watching western movies, reading, and traveling.

She married Samuel Nathan Harvey on August 4, 1962, and they enjoyed 43 years of marriage before his passing on May 8, 2006.

Her parents preceded her in death also and one brother, Donald Ray Bomar.

She is survived by one son, Doug (Betty) Harvey from Cherry Valley, Arkansas, one daughter, Donna (Bryce) Ellison also from Cherry Valley, Arkansas, four grandchildren: Samantha Jones Culpepper, Joshua Harvey, Joseph Harvey and Cody Ellison, and three great-grandchildren: Emma Grace Culpepper, Bailey Culpepper, and Austin Culpepper.

Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2022, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel from 12:30 until 2:00 P. M. and Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P. M. Interment will be in Tyre Cemetery in Hydrick, Arkansas. Bro. Clayton Homewood will conduct the service.
