Athletic competitions at Lyon College are now closed to the public and campus members, according to the athletic department’s updated public COVID protocols for such events. The school has noted the rise of the highly contagious omicron variant when updating the spectator policy (see the policy below).
The spectator policy for all competitions on the campus now limits attendance to Lyon student athletes’ immediate family members only. Each student-athlete can have two family members present.
Lyon also noted that on-campus indoor athletic events will be at 70 percent capacity of the particular venue while outdoor athletic events will be at 100 percent capacity.
Lyon said it will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and its variants and will adapt policies as needed.
