Investigators with the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, Mountain View Police Department, and 16th Judicial Drug Task Force executed a stolen property search warrant on Moore Road in Stone County on Friday, Feb. 11, according to a release from Stone County Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton.
The warrant came after a complaint of a theft from Excel Boats allegedly involving an employee. Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators located 12 outboard motor mufflers belonging to Excel Boats, valued at over $5,000; approximately 1.7 pounds of marijuana packaged in separate packages; 3.4 grams of methamphetamine; multiple firearms; two sets of digital scales; marijuana grinders; baggies; methamphetamine smoking devices; and syringes, according to McGilton’s release. Investigators also seized $18,410 U.S. currency and eight firearms.
The release said Terry Guthrie, 58, of Mountain View, was arrested for possession of crystal meth 2-10 grams, a Class C felony; possession of marijuana with the purpose to deliver over four ounces but less than 25 pounds, a Class C felony; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony; maintaining a drug premises, a Class C felony; theft of property over $5,000, but less than $25,000; a Class C felony; possession of a firearm by a certain person, a Class D felony.
Guthrie has prior felony convictions and will be charged as a habitual offender.
