Batesville’s Chris Milum recognized for military achievements

Chris Milum, a member of the Batesville School Board and a 2006 Batesville High School graduate, has been recognized for his military achievements by Representative Stu Smith and the Arkansas House of Representatives. 

Captain Milum‘s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/ 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal w/ 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Arkansas National Guard Service Ribbon, Arkansas Emergency Service Ribbon w/ Bronze Diamond, and the German Armed Force Proficiency Badge – Gold. 

He was also selected as the 2020 National Guard Association of Arkansas Company Grade Officer of the Year Award, the 2020 National Guard Association of the United States Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Award for Company Grade Officers, and was one of 28 company-grade officers, Army-wide, out of over 120,000 to receive the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award in 2021.
