A sizable amount of illegal drugs were confiscated during a traffic stop Wednesday night near Calico Rock, according to a release from the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said two Baxter County men are in custody as a result of the drug bust — Ricky Dale Glover Jr., 38, of Mountain Home, and Chadwick Allen Wallace, 44, of Gassville.

During the course of the traffic staff and investigation, it was learned that both men were on probation with a search waiver on file.  The waiver allows law enforcement to search a person and/or vehicle if there is reasonable suspicion of illegal drugs being present.

During the vehicle search, a metal box equipped with magnetic strips was located on top of the muffler. According to the release, the box contained one large plastic bag with a large quantity of a white crystalline substance, two needles, and one set of digital scales inside. Officials reported the white crystalline substance tested positive as meth.

Both Glover and Wallace were placed under arrest.

In addition to the meth in the metal box, Glover admitted to having meth on his person.  He handed officers two plastic baggies with meth inside, according to the release.

Altogether, officers seized a half-pound of meth with a street value of $25,000.

Glover and Wallace were charged with two illegal drug violations. Both are felonies.
