
James Laroy Nast, 91, of Batesville passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022. He was born November 2, 1930, in Batesville, Arkansas to L.M. “Roy” Nast and Pearl Pate Nast. James owned and operated Jim Nast Garage for 20 plus years. He loved to repurpose old things and loved people. He dearly loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 66 years, Bertha (Everett) Nast; one sister, Virginia Austin Jones and two brothers, Jack Nast and Robert Nast.
Survivors include two sons, Billy R. Burns of Sulphur Rock and Jim Nast (Shawn) of Batesville; one brother, Parker Nast (Bertha); one sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Pierce; five grandchildren, Lance Burns (Betty), Kari Verser, Tracey Mitchell (Mike), Amy Coleman (Jason) and Ryan Nast (Deanna); fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Eric Nast officiating. Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Nast, Greyson Wyatt, Lenney Rush, Mike Nast, Frankie Parish and Scott Copeland.
