LISTEN: WRHS/UACCB course on suicide prevention scheduled for Thursday

A class to teach participants how to appropriately and effectively approach a family member or friend who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts will be held Thursday, April 14 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville (UACCB). The course is presented by White River Health System and UACCB.
The class will cover the signs and symptoms associated with depression and anxiety, as well as suicide myths and how to recognize the warning signs and risk factors associated with individuals facing mental health challenges that may lead to suicidal thinking and behaviors.
Lindsey Bowers, the director of marketing for behavioral health at White River Health System, recently visited with Chad Whitaker at the White River Now family of radio stations to discuss the event. Listen to their conversation below.
