Obituary: Lillian Elwanda (Doyle) White

Lillian Elwanda (Doyle) White of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the age of 88. She was born January 25, 1934, in Newport, Arkansas, the daughter of Ealem Andrew and Lena Estelle (Page) Doyle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorse Lavoy White; one brother, Bobby Gene Doyle; one sister, Betty Evelyn Stackhouse; and her parents.

Mrs. White was a 1952 graduate of Newport High School. Elwanda played on the Lady Greyhound basketball team and was active in the 4 H club. She worked at Wal-Mart and Price Chopper as a cashier until her retirement in 2020. She had many hobbies including bowling, cooking, canning, and gardening. She was an avid Razorback fan. She enjoyed working on puzzles and feeding birds. She always loved her weenie dogs she had through the years. Elwanda was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Newport. She sang in the choir.

Mrs. White is survived by one son, William Andrew “Andy” White and wife, Melody, of Marion; two daughters, Debbie Eddington and husband, Millard, of Harrison, and Jackie Cash and husband, Danny, of Brandon, Florida; five grandchildren, Rachel Lynn Heuer of Harrison, Chuck Eddington and wife, Tabitha of Harrison, Sarah Elizabeth Langmaid and husband, Jeff, of Tampa, Florida, Bradley Neil Cash and wife, Cheryl, of St. Johns, Florida, Peyton Andrew White of Fayetteville; nine great-grandchildren, Declan Heuer, Ty Eddington, Shelby Eddington, Kennedi Campbell, Cooper Campbell, Audrey Langmaid, Madison Cash, Mailey Cash, and Maxton Cash; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Teddy Rhea officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Danny Cash, Millard Eddington, Chuck Eddington, Brad Cash, Peyton White, Ty Eddington, Declan Heuer, Cooper Campbell, and Maxton Cash. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Altom, Mike Willhite, Shane Brosh, Jeff Langmaid, Mickey Doyle, Rickey Doyle, Larry Doyle, Gill Doyle, and Ronnie Doyle.
