An Independence County Sheriff’s Deputy was recognized today by a group that travels the country honoring fallen law enforcement officers.

The End of Watch Ride to Remember is a group of cyclists that escorts a 40-foot trailer bearing the pictures and names of fallen law enforcement officers across the country honoring them.

At this morning’s ceremony at the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, the group honored Independence County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Ramirez, Jr. who died in the line of duty on Nov. 18, 2021, after a one-vehicle accident on Arkansas Highway 14.

The group of motorcyclists arrived at 9 a.m. to recognize Ramirez. The family of Ramirez, including his wife and two children, along with members of the sheriff’s department, Sheriff Shawn Stephens, and many friends and relatives were on hand to welcome the ride.
