Eddie Joe Sample, 67, of Pleasant Plains, departed this life on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, following a long illness.

He was born on January 12, 1955, to Charlie and Leda Sample. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ruth and a son, Sean (Jeanette); grandsons, Hudson and Miles; bonus grandchildren, Gavin and Lenny Thomas, all of Pleasant Plains; sisters, Ramona (Shelby) Qualls of Mt. Pleasant and Helen Floyd of Searcy and brother, Charles Sample of Russellville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Corey Joe and his parents.

He was a member of Roosevelt Church of Christ. Eddie Joe was the owner/operator of different trucking operations for nearly 45 years. His operations ranged from an egg hauling business for Safeway Company, over-the-road 18-wheeler long hauls and eventually a dump truck business.

Eddie Joe was what you would call an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and “calling the hogs” with his grandsons was a thrill!

Pallbearers will be Doug Bryant, Grayling Wheeler, Joey Hays, Rusty Paul, Greg Meharg and Gavin Thomas
