Independence County celebrated America’s independence with two Fourth of July events over the holiday weekend.
The Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove hosted a fireworks show Friday night while the annual Citizens Bank Celebrate America event in Batesville’s Riverside Park wrapped up the three-day weekend with live music, food vendors, and more fireworks.

Monday’s festivities in Batesville included the Independence Experience 5K run to kick off the day. Live music from Garrett Dunkin, Dixon Street, and Cory Jackson (pictured below in the white t-shirt with guitar) entertained the crowds at Riverside Park in the early evening. And the event concluded with a large fireworks display over the White River.
