According to officials from the City of Batesville, a new text messaging service has been introduced for residents to quickly report issues and also find local municipal information.

To opt in to the service, residents can text the word “Hi” to (870) 512-5155 to report an issue or get information regarding online bill payment, the Batesville City Council, garbage, parks, building permits, voting, and employment.

According to the city, the technology will evaluate input and search keywords in order to provide assistance anytime, day or night.

Residents can also now text the word “Batesville” to 91896 to receive city alert notifications via text message.

The new technology is powered by TextMyGov.
