Obituary: Larry Gus Lassiter

Larry Gus Lassiter, 77, of Austin departed this life on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.  He was born on August 3, 1944, to Charles Gus and Edith Lee (Calhoun) Lassiter.

Larry was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot.  He was a retired State Trooper who began his career with Troop B in Newport and later went to Troop A where he retired after 40 years.  He loved being a State Trooper.  He also enjoyed camping and deer hunting.  Another favorite pastime was working on his cars.  Above all else he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gus Lassiter and Edith Lee Lassiter and his brother, Howard Dwight Lassiter.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda (Hohn) Lassiter; his daughters, Annette  Ku (Jimmy) of Cabot and Penny Ellison of Bryant; his brother, Phillip Lassiter; his grandchildren, Ashley Morales (Ricky) of Newport, Shawne West (Bryce) of Cave City, Kyle Ellison (Ashley) of Benton and Shelby Caubble (Kenneth) of Jonesboro; his great-grandchildren, Seth Morales, Kenzley Morales, Owen West, Korbin Ellison, Brooks Ellison, Cade West and Scarlett Caubble.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at Watson Cemetery with Brother David Mitchell officiating.
