Mountain View Mayor Roger Gardner said this morning that sales tax collections for the city were strong through the first half of the year.

Gardner said approximately $750,000 has been collected so far and that the city is on pace to collect $1.5 million for 2022. In 2021, Gardner said the local sales tax collected amounted to $1.3 million.

The mayor credited the strong economy to city residents working together, as well as the festivals and events held in Mountain View.
