The Southside Southerners hosted their media day Friday, Aug. 5, at the football stadium.
Varsity and junior high players, cheerleaders, parents, community, and other special guests gathered for official pictures as well as group shots with friends and family. This was the first time the Southerners showed off their new gray jerseys.
Immediately following the media day event, players and families shifted to a work day, where they combined their efforts cleaning, organizing, and painting to get the field house and facilities in the best shape to kick off the season.
The school will host Meet The Southerners on Friday, Aug. 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is a community event with activities for families and to introduce students participating in all fall sports and extracurricular activities from youth through high school.
The Southernerners host Melbourne for their scrimmage game on Thursday, Aug. 18. Junior high will play at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity at 7 p.m.
