Izard County authorities allege a Hardy, Ark., woman began breaking into and entering vehicles and stealing property last week. There was also at least one break-in in Fulton County.

Before she was done, Autumn Dailey, 20, had broken into over a dozen vehicles and taken a variety of property including a handgun, debit card, cash, and a pair of Apple AirPods Pro headphones, according to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.

The theft of the AirPods proved to be Dailey’s downfall.

Authorities say one person who had their Dodge Ram broken into and ransacked reported their Apple AirPods Pro had been stolen. The person also said the AirPods Pro headphones were connected to their Apple iPhone via GPS — and the GPS location showed the headphones to be in Sharp County.

With that location information, authorities went to a residence on Gwaltney Road in Hardy and confronted Dailey about the break-ins and stolen property.

Police say the AirPods were retrieved by Dailey from the door pocket of her vehicle, and the firearm that had been stolen in Izard County was under the car seat.

Upon questioning, officers said Dailey told them she “just drove around stealing things out of vehicles,” the sheriff’s department said.

Dailey is charged with 10 felony counts of breaking or entering, one felony count of theft of a firearm, one felony count of theft of a debit card, and three misdemeanor theft charges.

Dailey was taken to the Izard County Detention Center and placed into custody. Her bond was set at $50,000.
