Maudie Kathleen Barnes
of Batesville

August 22, 1934 – August 13, 2022

Maudie Kathleen Barnes, 87, of Batesville passed away August 13, 2022.

She was born August 22, 1934, in Cushman to Sherman and Willie (Johnson) Fulbright.

Maudie was a loving wife and mother and a member of Central Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and spent five years as a respected nurse’s aide. She was an artist who took floral design classes and art classes. Maudie was a landscape designer and a craft person.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-nine years, Charles Lee Barnes of Batesville; one son, Mitch Barnes (Angela) of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Colton and Christopher Barnes, Nicole Teneiz (Alex); two great-grandchildren, Ian and Eli Barnes; four nieces, Margaret Nolan, Rose Allan, Kathy Dodd, Debbie Landers; and three nephews, Ronnie Fulbright, Charles Campbell, and Jimmy Dale Cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Barnes; brother, Arby Fulbright; and two sisters, Audley Ladendecker and Claudia Campbell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Paul Seay officiating.
