
Mr. Garry Bradley of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the age of 67. He was born February 6, 1955, in Newport, the son of Norris and Lurlene (Connor) Bradley.
Garry was a 1973 graduate of Tuckerman High School. He was a Newport Fireman, retiring in 2010 as Captain, and worked as a reserve police officer for the Newport Police Department for over 14 years.
Garry was a hard worker, who could do most anything. He was a talented handyman, welder, and carpenter. Garry was a St. Louis Cardinal fan who enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching “Gunsmoke,” Andy Griffith, and cooking videos on YouTube. He especially loved time spent with his family.
Garry was preceded in death by one son, Caleb Bradley, and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Joyner) Bradley of the home; two sons, Adam Bradley of Newport, and Keith Dixon of Jonesboro; one daughter, Amy Harrison, and husband, Raymond, of Bald Knob; five grandchildren, Justus Bradley, Kensley Bradley, Crew Harrison, Cooper Harrison, and Madison Dixon; one brother, Tommy Bradley, and wife, Melanie, of Jonesboro; two sisters, Ann Stapleton, and husband, Larry, of Tuckerman, and Pam Burris, and husband, David, of Tuckerman; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Churchman officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the service.
Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Curt Coles, Brandon Taylor, Freddy Shaw, Dale Gardner, Carl Murphy, Rick Beaver, past and present members of the Newport Fire Department, and the Newport Police Department.
